The Camera

1. SLR - A single-lens reflex (SLR) camera is a camera that typically uses a semi-automatic moving mirror system that permits the photographer to see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system.

2. TLR - A twin-lens reflex camera (TLR) is a type of camera with two objective lenses of the same focal length.

3. Lens - A lens (also known as photographic lens, objective lens or photographic objective) is an optical lens or assembly of lenses used in conjunction with a camera body and mechanism to make images of objects either on photographic film or on other media capable of storing an image chemically or electronically.

4. Shutter - a photographic device that administers the exposure by limiting the time over which light is admitted

5. Shutter speed control - In still cameras, the term shutter speed represents the time that the shutter remains open when taking a photograph. Along with the aperture of the lens (also called f-number), it determines the amount of light that reaches the film or sensor. Conventionally, the exposure is measured in units of exposure value (EV), sometimes called stops, representing a halving or doubling of the exposure.

6. Aperture - The aperture stop of a photographic lens can be adjusted to control the amount of light reaching the film or image sensor.

7. ISO - ISO is actually a common short name for the International Organisation for Standardization.

8. ASA - A camera dial used to measure the light speed.

9. Shutter Button - the shutter-release button (sometimes just shutter release or shutter button) is a button found on many cameras, used to take a picture.

10. Rewind Nob - Rewinds the film in the camera.
